SV Elversberg is preparing for its historic Bundesliga debut with a familiar face. Lukasz Poreba transfers from Hamburger SV to SV Elversberg for a bargain price. The club exercised the option to buy the defensive midfielder for 1.6 million euros. Poreba has signed a three-year contract until summer 2029. According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee is around 1.6 million euros. Considering the current market value of 2.5 million euros, this is a good deal for the Saarlanders. Poreba's original contract at the Elbe would have expired in 2027. SVE sports director Christian Weber praised the Pole: He has shown how valuable he is for the team and fits perfectly with the values of the club. Also, HSV sports director Claus Costa drew a positive conclusion: The loan was fully successful for all parties, Poreba has made a great development. Before the 26-year-old moved to Hamburg in 2023, he had stations at Zaglebie Lubin in his Polish homeland and at RC Lens in France. After three years, he is leaving the Hanseatic city for good. In Elversberg, he quickly became the anchor of the team. From the third matchday, the former Polish U21 international was unbeaten in the starting lineup, played all 34 second division matches and contributed one goal and four other scoring points to the promotion. For Elversberg, a new chapter begins in the upcoming season. As the second-placed team in the 2. Bundesliga, the SVE will be the 59th team in the history of the Bundesliga since its founding in 1963. Poreba himself described the promotion as something historic and explained that he had great trust in Elversberg from the start and wanted to continue the common path in the Bundesliga. The fact that the club is starting the preparation with him as the first fixed transfer sends an internal clear signal. Whether Poreba will also master the leap into the Bundesliga as a regular player will be shown from the first matchday. His market value has more than doubled during the loan.
